Winter break I didn't really do much during winter break. I stayed home alone since my parents would go to work and my sister went out with her friends most of the time. I have 4 kittens so they kept me company. I didn't go nowhere for Christmas or new years. My cousins that live near San Francisco came to visit for Christmas. Every year my family always meets with my aunt that lives 3 houses away from us. We eat delicious food over there in Christmas eve and at 12 am(Christmas) we sing to baby Jesus. My cousins and I watched a couple of movies in new years. We watched two Christmas romance movies, a horror movie, and a mystery movie. I didn't do any work while I was at my house because I just wanted to rest and I didn't have homework.

"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now. Write down what you want most and see it often." -Peter Vidmar This quote by Peter Vidmar is. He is basically saying to not give up on what you want in life. What he means by don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now is to not really focus on what you want to do at the moment but focus on what you want most. For example, if you want to go to the movies with your friends focus on what you want most before doing anything else. To achieve what you want most you have to write down what you want, That's why Peter says to write down what you want most and see it often. When you write down what you want you have to see it often to remember what you want and be motivated to achieve it. When you write down your goals and see them very often you are very likely to achieve that goal.

"A god name is better than anything you can achieve in this life" Coach K Mike Krzyzewski This quote from coach k means that having a good name is the best thing you can have in life. By having a good name he doesn't mean having a nice name, he means having a name that everyone knows and when they hear that name they would just think good things. They would not think of a criminal they would think of someone that makes good decisions, is loyal, responsible, etc. This is the greatest achievement in life because you would be known as a great person and  as a role model.

"If your so- called friends urge you to do anything you know is wrong, you be the one to make a stand for right, even if you stand alone. Have the moral courage to be a light for others to follow."  This statement is very true and everyone should listen to it. Many kids hang out with their friends in school during lunch but are they really their friends? If that person tells you to do things that are wrong, he or she is probably not a friend. A friend does not encourage you to do things you know are wrong such as smoking, not listening to your parents, doing bad in school, etc. Always stand up for what you think is right and don't do what these "friends" tell you to do if you know it is wrong. You shouldn't hang out with these people if you know they are a bad influence. Always know who you are hanging out with and who you consider a friend.

Columbus Day Christopher columbus is an italian explorer who was born in 1451 in the republic of Genoa, Italy. Columbus day is a US holiday that celebrates the landing of christopher columbus in “the new world” on October 12, 1492. Many people say that christopher discovered America but that is false, there were millions of people living there before he landed there. This holiday honors christopher's achievements and celebrates Italian - American heritage. Columbus day was not a holiday until president Franklin D. Roosevelt proclaimed it to be a holiday in 1937. People celebrate columbus day by hosting parades and fairs that have costumes, Italian food, and music. Reflection: I think Columbus day is a good holiday because it celebrates Italian-American heritage.

"Goal setting is Goal getting. Set and Get"- Mark Victor Hansen Mark Victor Hansens statement is very true because when you set your goal you are more likely to get that goal. This is because when you write down your goal you look at it and read it and you are more determined to reach that goal. When you dont set your goal you just think about it but never achieve it or are very unlikely to achieve it. For example if your goal is to be a nurse or a doctor you have to write it down. That is when you set your goal. To get your goal you have to do whatever you can and be willing to do everything you need to do to reach it. Always remember to write down any goal that you want and look at it every day because that is the only way to get that goal. Get a journal and write down all of your goals on there and remember the more you set, the more you get.

"When obedience becomes your goal it is no longer an irritation; instead of a stumbling block, it becomes a building block." -James E. Fost In this quote by James E. Faust, he is saying that every time you obey you build a building block and go higher. This is obviously not literal. Your goal is to get to the top and to do that you need to be obedient.  Just like you build a block every time you obey you also get a stumbling block every thime you disobey. When you get a stumbling block your blocks fall and you have to build them up again. You should always choose the right to keep your blocks from falling because once your blocks fall you are going to struggle to build them again. Being obedient feels good afterward and you also make others feel good.

"We learn to do by doing" -Spencer W. Kimball This means that we learn by doing and experiencing things ourselves. You can't learn something by just sitting down. For example, to learn to ride a bike you have to be on a bike and experience it yourself. We also need to want to learn something to learn it. If you dont want to learn it you would just give up and not try. In math class you can listen to your teacher giving the lesson and learn but in order to know you are getting it right you have to do some problems youself. There are other ways to learn like listening or reading but the best way is by doing it youself. When you do something youself you are actually learning because you make mistakes and you  learn from those mistakes. When you are learning by watching someone else do the work you would most likely not remember how it's done that's why to learn you have to do it youeself. When you do things youself you remember doing it and remem...

"Choosing the right is always the right thing to do." -Alex Linares I agree with Alex Linares that choosing the right is always the right thing to do. Even though someone tells you to do something that is wrong you should always choose the right. Sometimes people are confused and don't know if to choose the right or the wrong but you should always choose the right because when you choose the wrong you feel bad afterwards.
