Duties and responsibilities: Most people think that a plastic surgeon only do cosmetic procedures to enhance a patient's outward appearance but they do more than that. Some plastic surgeons specialize in treating patients after an injury. A plastic surgeon talks to the patient before the treatment to know what they want to change about their body. They suggest a medical treatment to correct what they want and they tell the patient the benefits and  risks of the procedure. They make a schedule for the patient and line up other medical professionals that would be needed for the procedure. They meet with the patient after the surgery to see if the surgery went well and was successful.

Education: To become a plastic surgeon you need a bachelor's degree in a pre-medical major such as biology or chemistry. You must enter medical school after.
