This quote means that you have more freedom when you are obedient. When you don't obey you get into trouble and are not free. When you obey, people don't have to be after you all the time to make sure you are doing what's right. An example of this quote is if you are not driving safely and not obeying the laws you would not have freedom because you would get arrested or you would be tracked to make sure you are not disobeying. This quote does not only apply to major disobedience like committing a crime or not obeying the laws. It could be very simple as not obeying your parents. probably your mom wanted you to clean your room and you didn't obey so you got punished and weren't free for the rest of the week or how long they choose to punish you.

He is basically saying to not give up on what you want in life. Columbus Day Christopher columbus is an italian explorer who was born in 1451 in the republic of Genoa, Italy. Columbus day is a US holiday that celebrates the landing of christopher columbus in “the new world” on October 12, 1492. Many people say that christopher discovered America but that is false, there were millions of people living there before he landed there. This holiday honors christopher's achievements and celebrates Italian - American heritage. Columbus day was not a holiday until president Franklin D. Roosevelt proclaimed it to be a holiday in 1937. People celebrate columbus day by hosting parades and fairs that have costumes, Italian food, and music. Reflection: I think Columbus day is a good holiday because it celebrates Italian-American heritage.

"Decisions Determine Destiny" -Thomas S. Monson This quote means that your decisions affect where you will end up in life. Your decisions could affect your life in both a negative and a positive way. I think that everyone could relate to this quote because everyone makes some decisions they regret or some good decisions that they are proud of. Everyone has a chance to make their own decisions and to choose whether they want to do whats right or whats wrong. If a decision you make is bad the consequences would be bad is your decision is right your consequences would probably be good. An example of a bad decision is if you do drugs you could go to prison or you could die. An example of a good decision is if you do all of your homework and classwork in class you would pass the class.
